Hollow Square is a personal singing-minutes book for Sacred Harp singers. It works entirely on your device — there's no account to sign into and no server to go down. Most questions are answered below; for anything else, use the form at the bottom of this page.
Common questions
- Where are my minutes stored? Only on your device. Hollow Square has no account and no server, so nothing leaves your phone or tablet unless you use Share.
- Why don't song pages match my book? Hollow Square ships no page numbers from The Sacred Harp — you enter and confirm every page yourself against your own copy, since page numbers can differ between editions and printings.
- How do I back up my minutes? Use the share button on any singing's detail screen to export it as plain text, or photograph the class and attach it to a singing from the camera/library picker.
- I turned on the weekly reminder but never got a notification. Check Settings → Notifications on your device and make sure Hollow Square is allowed to notify you; the app will offer a direct link to that screen if permission was declined.
- Does Hollow Square work without a connection? Yes — everything except the Links tab's in-app browser works fully offline.
